When trying to add your IP camera as a video source in ManyCam, you may receive the following error message: “IP camera is not responding”. This might be due to an invalid IP camera URL. To help you connect to your IP camera and use it as a video source, we’ve put together a small list of common IP cameras and the IP address URLs that seem to work the most often for them. We’ve received a few comments from users saying that their antivirus program is falsely flagging ManyCam as malware or as an unwanted program. These false positive reports happen occasionally, where your antivirus thinks a program is harmful when it is actually safe.
One way to know if your antivirus is giving you a false positive report is to use VirusTotal. VirusTotal lets you scan a downloaded file with 45+ antivirus programs so you can compare the results. If most antivirus programs report a virus, then you know the program is malicious. If only a few antivirus programs report a problem, then it is likely a false positive.
Also, many antivirus companies are now classifying toolbars as PUA (Potentially Unwanted Software), PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program), or simply as Toolbar. All toolbars are classified as such even if they are not actually malware. From time to time, we can bundle a toolbar in our product, which we know for a fact doesn’t contain any malware. If you do not wish to install the toolbar please make sure to un-check the boxes or click on “Decline” in the dedicated offer page in the installer.
It is also important to make sure you are not downloading any ManyCam cracks, as these versions can contain Trojans and malicious viruses that can harm your computer. Not only do ManyCam cracks contain viruses, but they don’t even work.
Make sure to keep your ManyCam software secure and download directly from our website.
ManyCam 4.1.1 for Windows is now available for download. This new version includes a new “Connect” tab that provides quick and easy access to compatible streaming sites and applications so you can broadcast live with ManyCam even faster! This version also includes the ability to save snapshots and recordings to multiple locations as well as several bug fixes and stability improvements.
A few users have let us know that ManyCam Mac is not compatible with the latest update from Apple – Mac OS 10.10.3. The system crashes and only removing the ManyCam Mac application in safe mode will restore the system.
Our team is investigating this case and are working on a way to fix it. In the mean time we suggest that our Mac users either don’t install the latest Mac OS 10.10.3 or uninstall ManyCam before doing so.

Many of our users ask us if they can create animated GIF effects and logos when using our Custom Effect Creation tool on our website. Unfortunately effects can only be created from PNG/JPG images, however we do have an easy way for you to add an animated GIF to your live broadcast by using the picture-in-picture mode.

We want to warn our Mac users that unfortunately ManyCam Mac is still not compatible with Mac OS 10.10.3, which was officially released this week. Our team has been working on fixing the compatibility issue on the beta version but were not able to find a solution in time for the official release.
Several users have reported kernel panics in ManyCam when upgrading to 10.10.3. Please make sure to uninstall ManyCam in safe mode and reboot your computers.
We apologize for this inconvenience, and want to assure you that our team is working hard on rectifying the compatibility issue, and are in contact with Apple so this can be solved as soon as possible.

ManyCam Mac is now compatible with OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 supplemental update 1.0. We have worked in conjunction with Apple so they could release an update which fixes the issue causing Yosemite systems to crash. All details of this update can be found here.
In order to resolve the issue, you can temporarily uninstall ManyCam, then update your OS X with the 10.10.3 supplemental update, and finally re-install ManyCam.

ManyCam Mac 3.0.14 is now available for download on manycam.com. This new version fixes the issues some users were having on flash-based websites. We’ve also added some fixes for certain applications like Skype, Facetime and Camfrog.
ManyCam 5.0 Beta for Windows is now available for download. This is a trial version and will be available for users to test until June 22, 2015.

Since this is a Beta release, we encourage our users to try it out and provide us with feedback! Make sure to test all the new features and let us know if you find any bugs.

Also the new Beta version can now be installed in parallel with ManyCam 4.X, however both versions cannot be running at the same time.

We’ve received several emails from users who upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and were having issues recording MP4 with ManyCam.
Please find below a step-by-step guide that will fix this.
1) Right click on the ManyCam tray icon and click “Exit”.
2) On your desktop press the Windows Key + R to open the “Run” dialog box.
3) In the dialog box, type devmgmt.msc
4) In the Device Manager window select “Imaging Devices”.
5) Right click on “ManyCam Virtual Webcam” and select “Uninstall”. Make sure to check “Delete the driver software for this device”.
6) Uninstall ManyCam completely. Then reinstall the latest version from download.manycam.com (under the Free column).
